No Wifi

I have been away for a few days with no wifi.  This is why I have written no posts.  Sometimes it is good to get away from the news.  Nothing has happened in the world that I could do anything about. Some people have to miss the news altogether or they have terrible problems worrying about it and I would recommend that those people do just that.  In the days before television and radio we all got along fine without knowing what was happening until it was well and truly over.  I find I can watch the news and not be upset, but actually I feel this is not a good state to be in.  Obviously I have become De-sensitised to the truly awful things happening in our world, Every time I think about this I am alarmed that I can calmly watch other human beings suffering and am little moved by it, at least on the surface.  Although the world is shrinking the hurricanes in the Caribbean and U.S.A. seem far away.  If I am not careful I can think these things cannot happen here.  It is true that the U.K. does not have hurricanes or earthquakes on the scale other countries have.  Does this mean that Britain is better than elsewhere?  No we certainly deserve the worst for the way we have turned our back on God.  Now I am not suggesting that God is punishing anyone with hurricanes and earthquakes.  These phenomena are the result of the collective sin of all humans, so along with everyone else I have a part in the responsibility for the suffering caused in the Caribbean and U.S.A. tonight. We all affect one another, are all responsible for one another.  We all need to repent. God often brings good out of disaster and I pray that He will do this now.  For those affected who already know Jesus as their Saviour remember, He is with you always.  If you have Him you have everything.  You may have lost your earthly possessions but no one can take away from you your eternal life and the glory we shall have in heaven when we meet with our dear Saviour.

Life after death

When we lose a loved one it is natural to wonder how they are faring in the next life. I would warn against going to a medium to find out. At worst these people are charlatans after your money, the rest misguided or worse. We are told in the Bible not to try to reach the dead. The best person to call on in this situation is Jesus. That's right, go to the top. He is always available through prayer and doesn't make a charge. All he requires is that you look for him with all your heart. He has the answers to all of life's difficult questions.

Persecution of the sick in Britain

The British government, through the benefits system is persecuting thousands of people who are not fit to work, giving them very skimpy benefits. People who are not able to work for health reasons are not able to stand up for themselves. The goverment will answer to God when the suicides happen. People were treated in this way back in the Old Testament. Then exile was the result for the perpetrators. Something equally as bad will happen to those in power today. The churches should be aware that there are people in need and set up soup kitchens for these people. Many are in this position through no fault of their own. They should be helped not looked down upon.

Persevering

Sometimes it's hard to keep going with something we have started. A little setback can get in the way of trying to do something good. I want these thoughts to touch your heart and make you think things through. However as I cannot tell if anyone has read them unless you comment, I get disheartened and feel I am a voice calling in the wilderness. But who can tell who might light upon this page and be really encouraged or helped in their journey of life. If only one person was helped it would all be worthwhile. If you have been helped in any way by this blog do make a comment.I could do with some encouraging too.You can find more thoughts like these at this link A thought for each day
