So what is the Problem?

It's called sin. We tend to think of it as the unkind things we do to each other, but really the problem is much bigger, it is a general rebellion against God and there is only one cure for this problem. We need to come to Jesus for the forgivehttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifness he has provided by dying on the cross. You can't earn your way to God. Nothing you can do can put things right except taking the salvation Jesus provides. To read more about this, click the link below. Justification by Faith

With Norway in mind

We are always taken off guard by these terrible shootings by lone gunmen and yet there has been a steady stream of them over the years. In this country we have had Dunblane, Hungerford and Cumbria. There will always be such events because there is evil in the world and now and again it takes over some seemingly innocent mother's son and turns him into a monster. We like to think it could never happen to us, that our children are safe. Our child will never get shot, our son could never be the killer. Sin is a very potent force and any one of us could do these terrible things. It is only God's mercy which stops us. If we do not repent and turn to God we too could turn into a monster.

How ingenius is our God.

Today we have a picture of a poppy. God not only made moths and other insects but provided flowers to give them food. Each year the flowers appear at the right time for the insects coming out of hibernation. How wonderful is our God who made these things. You may say that these things do not always coincide and then things die. Didn't I tell you last night that this is because of the sin we have inherited from Adam. Do not think that I am accusing you and standing upright myself, I too am a sinner in need of God's forgiveness in Jesus. You can read a bit about my life if you like and also enjoy a feast of flowers. A Bit about Me A feast of flowers

Who am I trying to reach out to?

Here I am an English woman of 64, on the internet trying to reach other people. What do I want to happen? Well I just want to give anyone searching for answers to their life, the answers I have found that work for me. I know that Jesus has been with me all my life taking me through the good times and the bad and never leaving me. Wouldn't you like a friend like that? If you ask Jesus to be your friend he will not turn you away. He has promised that in the Bible. But the whole point in having Jesus as your friend is so that he will deal with the sin in your life. There's an old fashioned word "sin". Don't worry about it, everyone has it in their life, yes even me!! It's just a part of human nature. We all have this problem and only Jesus can deal with it, take it away. Well you don't want to keep it do you? It's crippling your life and keeping you separated from God. Naaman and leprosy, Us and sin

Do you know the story of Naaman in the Bible? If not take a look at the link below.Naaman had leprosy. He was sent to Israel and eventually found the prophet Elisha who sent him a message to say, if he wanted to be cured he must go and wash in the river Jordan, seven times. But Naaman thought this was too easy and was furious that Elisha had not come out to heal him in a magical way. He had sensible servants with him who persuaded him to go and wash. We are like Naaman only our problem is sin. We want to make up for our sin by doing good things. We want to please God our way, but God has made the only way, Jesus. Jesus died for us, we need to put our trust in him and let go of our sin. He deals with it freely. Interesting Bible People: Naaman

Why do people suffer?

Wow, you say that's a big topic for such a little woman. Indeed it is and of course, I don't have an easy answer. I have a friend who is developing Alzeimer's. She is my age, 63. Why is it happening to her and not to me ( so far)? Well she is certainly not a bigger sinner than I am. I probably deserve it more than she does if these things are deserved, which I think not. It is true that sin as an entity has entered our world and spoilt it and this affects all of us in some way or another, chiefly in the deterioration of our bodies so that we die. My friend is not suffering for anything she has done wrong, but because of that original disobedience of Adam and Eve. That original act has had repercussions for us all down through history.
