Do you find second-hand books irrestible? I was at a church fete yesterday and this is really one of the best places to get books. They start off at 50p each, but as the afternoon wears on the price goes down to 10p. After that they are almost paying you to take them away. I am not a great reader and still have plenty of books at home, but I just can't resist some classis such as, Thomas Hardy's tales from Wessex, Abbe Provost Manon Lescaut, some Kafka and Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye. I got those at 10p each. I would give up the computer for a week but I'm committed to several daily comments like this and I fear the world would stop without my pearls of wisdom.
