Basically it’s because it is run by people. Yes every one of use is flawed, we are
sinners who have a selfish bias. Every
one of use is saying inside, “I want.”
Now I believe our politicians start out wanting to do the best for our
countries, but somewhere along the line they discover if they go a certain way,
maybe not the way they had intended, they will get perks which would be rather
nice to have and so they just veer a tiny little bit off the track they had
meant to follow. I do not know much
about he, but I believe Joy Cox who was murdered on the streets of her town, is
an example of a young women, setting out to do good for her constituents. Sadly
we will never know if she would have continued in this way, but I will give her
the benefit of doubt. Many politicians
work long hours and hard to serve the country. But there is always the lure of
obtaining more power or money. In recent
years we had the scandal of M.Ps claiming for expences they were not entitled
to.
To turn to other
more extreme reasons for the mess in our world let us look at armaments. Who is supplying armaments to Syria or Saudi
Arabia. The makers of tanks and bombs have
a huge interest in wars continuing around the world. I guess we have makers of these things in the
U.K. but I could tell you very little about where they are. No doubt the bosses of these establishments
are living the high life on their proceeds.
No doubt they say to themselves, “There will always be wars so I might
as well have the benefit.”
I’m not particularly
getting at the makers of armaments. The
big problem is that we are all tainted by sin and find it very easy to convince
ourselves that the wrong things we do don’t matter. So what hope is there for the world? This world
is heading for disaster. The Bible says
it will be burnt up. (Nothing to do with Global Warming!) One day, maybe soon
Gad is going to finally sort out all the problems. Those who reject him will be cast into
Hell. But for those who will listen to
His voice and put their trust in Jesus there is a promise of heaven. What does “trust in Jesus mean?” If you were in a really bad fire and upstairs
and a fireman came to rescue you, you would just lie calm and still in his arms
and we so glad he had rescued you. You
wouldn’t be struggling to get your feet on the ladder and say, “Let me help
myself.” When we come to Jesus we need to realize that only He can save us from
God’s wrath; there is nothing we can do ourselves. I pray you will find this
solution to all life’s problems.
