In the West we pride ourselves on being democratic. I can
only speak about Britain. Recently we
had a referendum in which the majority voted to leave Europe. This obviously should mean that we leave
Europe. However for all the talk of “Brexit
means brexit” very little appears to have changed. It would not surprise me in the least if
slowing the process and double dealing end in a Brexit which is unrecognisable
from what the people intended to happen. Of course democracy is an ideal which
is not totally realisable. As they say
whoever you vote for you always get the Government. In recent years the political parties have
been very like each other and so there is no effective opposition. I’m glad my
trust is in Jesus, as governments can never be totally trusted. If I didn’t know that God reigns and is in
complete control of all things I would be a very worried woman.
First of all thanks to Fat Prophet for your interest. I see from your blog you are having trouble commenting. To get back to my assessed service. Criticism albeit constructive is harder for some to take than others. I felt a little crushed after my assessed service but then remembered I had recorded it on my dictaphone. I listened to it all through and although my assessors were quite right about me speaking a little quickly and rushing from item to item, I was actually very pleased with the content of my sermon and how I presented it. So I have decided to take heart. I highly recommend other trainees to record your services. You can hear your good points and your bad and there is no argument about it, it is all caught on the recorder.
