I’m sure no one would disagree with me when I say, “ The
world is in a mess.” But how should we react to this? It is so easy to sit comfortably in front of
the T.V. and because there is the need to protect oneself, to calmly eat tea
whilst watching the most awful scenes. A large dose of denial helps one brush
it all aside as happening a long way away. However problems are coming home to
roost. Migrants are invading our borders
and expecting to be assimilated into our own countries. Who is responsible for all the chaos in the
world? We all are, our collective
sinfulness causes all these problems.
The Western world is responsible for grabbing more than its share of the
natural resources of other lands and thereby causing the poverty of millions. The
chickens are definitely coming home to roost. However many migrants are not a
drain on the country. There are many
immigrants keeping our health service, in Britain, from crumbling. The government are talking of bringing in a
law that says after immigrants have been here six years, if they have not
reached a certain level of pay they will have to leave. Obviously they have not thought this through
properly as it would mean us losing thousands of nurses. Always, it seems, the
rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
First of all thanks to Fat Prophet for your interest. I see from your blog you are having trouble commenting. To get back to my assessed service. Criticism albeit constructive is harder for some to take than others. I felt a little crushed after my assessed service but then remembered I had recorded it on my dictaphone. I listened to it all through and although my assessors were quite right about me speaking a little quickly and rushing from item to item, I was actually very pleased with the content of my sermon and how I presented it. So I have decided to take heart. I highly recommend other trainees to record your services. You can hear your good points and your bad and there is no argument about it, it is all caught on the recorder.
