This is the title given to God in the book of Daniel. Most people hearing this title assume that
God is very old. In one sense this is
true in that God has always been, forever and ever. But God is not old as we get old. He is not weak and feeble as we become as we
get older. God is almighty and strong to
the greatest possible degree and beyond.
In fact words cannot express His power. God does not become feeble,
because in Him there is no sin, whereas we are sinners and affected by that. There
is every reason to fear God as He expects perfection from us. The only way we
can get that perfection is to hide ourselves in Jesus who did live the perfect
life and pleased God in every way. He says, “Come to me and I will give you rest.” What fools
we are if we turn away from Him.
First of all thanks to Fat Prophet for your interest. I see from your blog you are having trouble commenting. To get back to my assessed service. Criticism albeit constructive is harder for some to take than others. I felt a little crushed after my assessed service but then remembered I had recorded it on my dictaphone. I listened to it all through and although my assessors were quite right about me speaking a little quickly and rushing from item to item, I was actually very pleased with the content of my sermon and how I presented it. So I have decided to take heart. I highly recommend other trainees to record your services. You can hear your good points and your bad and there is no argument about it, it is all caught on the recorder.
