Little Accidents

Quite often in  life we have little accidents.  We need to realize that these could so easily have turned into big disasters. Maybe the electric blanket caught fire to your bed clothes when you forgot to switch it off in the morning, but something made you check your bedroom and you discovered the problem quickly and were able to switch off the blanket and stop the bed clothes from doing more than smoulder.  Did you thank God that disaster was avoided? You could have lost everything! We take for granted how God is looking after us and we are not thankful enough.  Even when involved in a big disaster as has recently happened in Canada, although many have lost a great deal, still they have escaped with their lives and being resiliant people will, in time rebuild their lives.

The biggest disaster that faces us is death and the question of where we will spend eternity.  Even this God has provided for us, salvation in Jesus, if we will just put our trust in Him alone.

Life after death

When we lose a loved one it is natural to wonder how they are faring in the next life. I would warn against going to a medium to find out. At worst these people are charlatans after your money, the rest misguided or worse. We are told in the Bible not to try to reach the dead. The best person to call on in this situation is Jesus. That's right, go to the top. He is always available through prayer and doesn't make a charge. All he requires is that you look for him with all your heart. He has the answers to all of life's difficult questions.

Persecution of the sick in Britain

The British government, through the benefits system is persecuting thousands of people who are not fit to work, giving them very skimpy benefits. People who are not able to work for health reasons are not able to stand up for themselves. The goverment will answer to God when the suicides happen. People were treated in this way back in the Old Testament. Then exile was the result for the perpetrators. Something equally as bad will happen to those in power today. The churches should be aware that there are people in need and set up soup kitchens for these people. Many are in this position through no fault of their own. They should be helped not looked down upon.

Persevering

Sometimes it's hard to keep going with something we have started. A little setback can get in the way of trying to do something good. I want these thoughts to touch your heart and make you think things through. However as I cannot tell if anyone has read them unless you comment, I get disheartened and feel I am a voice calling in the wilderness. But who can tell who might light upon this page and be really encouraged or helped in their journey of life. If only one person was helped it would all be worthwhile. If you have been helped in any way by this blog do make a comment.I could do with some encouraging too.You can find more thoughts like these at this link A thought for each day
