Is someone in your family terminally ill?

Are you in deep sorrow because a loved one is terminally ill? Then this will be a very difficult time for you, but you need to realize that we are all terminally ill.  From the moment we are conceived we are on a journey towards death.  However our fate is not in the hands of the doctors and medical staff.  Although we appreciate their knowledge and care, ultimately we are in God's hands alone. We are fearfully and wonderfully made and only God knows all the intricacies of our bodies. If the total number of things about our bodies was three billion the doctors know about 150 of those things, but God knows them all.  Jesus the good shepherd has us in His care.  He died for the sheep and if He has called us and we are His He will keep us in His care.   He is the only one who can decide when we leave this life and go to Him.  Paul spoke about wanting to leave this life and be with Christ which is far better, but he also wanted to stay in this life because he felt he was needed  to help his fellow believers.  Many terminally ill people go on to live far longer than the doctors have predicted. Our time is in God's hands.  Pour out your heart to God for your loved one and trust Him for the result. For those who trust in Jesus a glorious future spreads out before them to at last be in the glorious presence of their Lord.  Surely you do not want to hold them back from that.

Life after death

When we lose a loved one it is natural to wonder how they are faring in the next life. I would warn against going to a medium to find out. At worst these people are charlatans after your money, the rest misguided or worse. We are told in the Bible not to try to reach the dead. The best person to call on in this situation is Jesus. That's right, go to the top. He is always available through prayer and doesn't make a charge. All he requires is that you look for him with all your heart. He has the answers to all of life's difficult questions.

Persecution of the sick in Britain

The British government, through the benefits system is persecuting thousands of people who are not fit to work, giving them very skimpy benefits. People who are not able to work for health reasons are not able to stand up for themselves. The goverment will answer to God when the suicides happen. People were treated in this way back in the Old Testament. Then exile was the result for the perpetrators. Something equally as bad will happen to those in power today. The churches should be aware that there are people in need and set up soup kitchens for these people. Many are in this position through no fault of their own. They should be helped not looked down upon.

Persevering

Sometimes it's hard to keep going with something we have started. A little setback can get in the way of trying to do something good. I want these thoughts to touch your heart and make you think things through. However as I cannot tell if anyone has read them unless you comment, I get disheartened and feel I am a voice calling in the wilderness. But who can tell who might light upon this page and be really encouraged or helped in their journey of life. If only one person was helped it would all be worthwhile. If you have been helped in any way by this blog do make a comment.I could do with some encouraging too.You can find more thoughts like these at this link A thought for each day
