What can you learn from a Syrian general from c850B.C?

Do you realise people are the same the world over and from the beginning till now. That means that the experience of Naaman can teach you something you need to know in life. This is an Old Testament account and as I said yesterday,"I love the Old Testament." Don't get me wrong I love the New Testament too, but they are complementary and need to be studied together. I have written about Naaman on Squidoo as you will see below. That gives you an easy to read version of the Bible story, but it's good to read it in the Bible too.

Persecution of the sick in Britain

The British government, through the benefits system is persecuting thousands of people who are not fit to work, giving them very skimpy benefits. People who are not able to work for health reasons are not able to stand up for themselves. The goverment will answer to God when the suicides happen. People were treated in this way back in the Old Testament. Then exile was the result for the perpetrators. Something equally as bad will happen to those in power today. The churches should be aware that there are people in need and set up soup kitchens for these people.Many are in this position through no fault of their own. They should be helped not looked down upon.

Persevering

Sometimes it's hard to keep going with something we have started. A little setback can get in the way of trying to do something good. I want these thoughts to touch your heart and make you think things through. However as I cannot tell if anyone has read them unless you comment, I get disheartened and feel I am a voice calling in the wilderness. But who can tell who might light upon this page and be really encouraged or helped in their journey of life. If only one person was helped it would all be worthwhile.
