Who is this Christmas baby?

Although Jesus is the son of a peasant girl in Palestine He is also King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus has been born for a purpose and is God the Son.  This is not a cozy story of shepherds and kings visiting.  The shepherds were told, "Today33 your Savior is born in the city34 of David.35 He is Christ36 the Lord. 2:12 This37 will be a sign38 for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.”3
Net Bible.
A Saviour saves from disaster and the disaster was the sin of Adam and Eve that had been passed on to all humankind.  This is serious business. Jesus must represent humans and yet also be God for His sacrifice on the cross to be effective in saving His people.  Who are His people?  they are the ones He has chosen , all who will put them trust in Him and lean on Him alone for their salvation.

The kings brought presents that represented derious things in Jesus's life.  The gold because He was king, the incense because He was priest  and the myrhh for death.

Do not treat Christmas as a time of fluffiness.  It is a time when the universe was turning upside down. All mankind will be judged according to how they receive the Christ Child, who is king. Make Him your king now for whether you like it or not, He will be king most assuredly in the future.

Life after death

When we lose a loved one it is natural to wonder how they are faring in the next life. I would warn against going to a medium to find out. At worst these people are charlatans after your money, the rest misguided or worse. We are told in the Bible not to try to reach the dead. The best person to call on in this situation is Jesus. That's right, go to the top. He is always available through prayer and doesn't make a charge. All he requires is that you look for him with all your heart. He has the answers to all of life's difficult questions.

Persecution of the sick in Britain

The British government, through the benefits system is persecuting thousands of people who are not fit to work, giving them very skimpy benefits. People who are not able to work for health reasons are not able to stand up for themselves. The goverment will answer to God when the suicides happen. People were treated in this way back in the Old Testament. Then exile was the result for the perpetrators. Something equally as bad will happen to those in power today. The churches should be aware that there are people in need and set up soup kitchens for these people. Many are in this position through no fault of their own. They should be helped not looked down upon.

Persevering

Sometimes it's hard to keep going with something we have started. A little setback can get in the way of trying to do something good. I want these thoughts to touch your heart and make you think things through. However as I cannot tell if anyone has read them unless you comment, I get disheartened and feel I am a voice calling in the wilderness. But who can tell who might light upon this page and be really encouraged or helped in their journey of life. If only one person was helped it would all be worthwhile. If you have been helped in any way by this blog do make a comment.I could do with some encouraging too.You can find more thoughts like these at this link A thought for each day
