Poems of loss

This is the address for my Poems of Loss. I have written about folks losing their Grandchild; an elderly lady losing her husband; my loss of a little friend when I was three and the loss of a marriage. I would like the poems to help others going through bereavement. My faith in Jesus does not make me come up with any slick answers to these events. We all have to find our own answers in our own way.I grieve through my poetry as I am not a person who finds it easy to cry. Here is another address for my poem about losing a lifelong friend earlier this year.http://www.squidoo.com/lastingfriendship . If you find it hard to cry perhaps you should try poetry too. http://www.squidoo.com/poemsofloss

  1. Hi Liz,
not sure if you realise but your links don't actually link - I have tried clicking on all of them and got nothing - there are quite clear instructions how to do this in the help section of blogger. I just wonder whether some folk will not be bothered to look if they have to type the whole link out.

Life after death

When we lose a loved one it is natural to wonder how they are faring in the next life. I would warn against going to a medium to find out. At worst these people are charlatans after your money, the rest misguided or worse. We are told in the Bible not to try to reach the dead. The best person to call on in this situation is Jesus. That's right, go to the top. He is always available through prayer and doesn't make a charge. All he requires is that you look for him with all your heart. He has the answers to all of life's difficult questions.

Persecution of the sick in Britain

The British government, through the benefits system is persecuting thousands of people who are not fit to work, giving them very skimpy benefits. People who are not able to work for health reasons are not able to stand up for themselves. The goverment will answer to God when the suicides happen. People were treated in this way back in the Old Testament. Then exile was the result for the perpetrators. Something equally as bad will happen to those in power today. The churches should be aware that there are people in need and set up soup kitchens for these people. Many are in this position through no fault of their own. They should be helped not looked down upon.

Persevering

Sometimes it's hard to keep going with something we have started. A little setback can get in the way of trying to do something good. I want these thoughts to touch your heart and make you think things through. However as I cannot tell if anyone has read them unless you comment, I get disheartened and feel I am a voice calling in the wilderness. But who can tell who might light upon this page and be really encouraged or helped in their journey of life. If only one person was helped it would all be worthwhile. If you have been helped in any way by this blog do make a comment.I could do with some encouraging too.You can find more thoughts like these at this link A thought for each day
